K&M Sues Modest Mouse Singer Isaac Brock

Modest Mouse frontman Isaac Brock told bystanders he fell asleep at the wheel before rear-ending a city employee on the Morrison Bridge.

Brock, 42, was impaired when he crashed his Land Rover into a truck driven by Cassidy Kane, causing a five-car pileup. Police cited Brock for careless driving contributing to an accident. They did not administer field sobriety tests. Brock has previous convictions for drunk driving, assault, driving while suspended and driving while uninsured.

Kane, a 41-year-old city utility worker, was seriously injured in the collision. She hasn’t been able to work during the 15 months since the crash because of the neck shoulder and back injuries she suffered. Kane’s job at Delta Park required her to lift up to 100 pounds, dig irrigation trenches, fix, rake and chalk baseball fields – none of which she can do now.

Kane plans to change careers. The city’s union will pay for her to study business management.

Kafoury & McDougal is seeking $115,000 in lost wages and $750,000 for pain and suffering.
