Nationally syndicated Inside Edition investigative reporter Lisa Guerrero covered the story of three Kafoury & McDougal clients who stood up to American Medical Response, the nation’s largest ambulance company, and the EMT who sexually abused them.

Our firm is representing Michelle Shaftel and Ashley Kendrick and did represent Royshekka Herring, in their lawsuits against American Medical Response for the abuse they suffered at the hand of emergency medical technician Lannie Haszard.

Haszard was convicted of molesting seven women and sentenced to eight years in prison. He is now out of prison after serving five years. A total of 35 women came forward saying Haszard had assaulted them while they were trapped in the back of an ambulance with him.

We won a $3.85 million jury verdict, including attorney fees, in Ms. Herring’s trial against AMR in fall of 2009.

The other two women’s lawsuits are pending in the Oregon Supreme Court after a win in the state court of appeals. Appeals of 6 other women’s cases are still pending.
