Dennis Sanderson, a homeless man, routinely searched for cans and bottles along Oregon State University’s Fraternity Row. Members of Alpha Gamma Rho fraternity, an agricultural fraternity, made a sport out of shooting homeless people with BB guns. However, one day, one of the fraternity members chose to use practice target ammunition and a .22 caliber rifle to shoot at Dennis Sanderson. We took the case to trial and the jury awarded Sanderson $41,421.06 for his medical bills and his pain and suffering.
